SUMMARY:Autocross Top Driver Shootout
DESCRIPTION:The Top Driver Shootout (TDS) is an end of season competition for the coveted Fechner Cup\, but also a thank you to our dedicated members who participated in three or more events during our 2016 Autocross Series. The course is run in two different directions and the top drivers from each run group move on to a shoot-out round where they drive a loop-back version. Between the morning and afternoon driving sessions we enjoy a catered BBQ lunch and present awards to our class winners. \nThis event is invitation only for anyone who attended three or more regular-season autocross events.

SUMMARY:Autocross #7
DESCRIPTION:Our autocrosses are a competitive environment where a cone track is setup in a big parking lot or airfield. We put cars into classes based on a formula (considering weight\, torque\, modifications\, and several other factors)\, and drivers compete against other cars within their class. Cars race against the clock\, not side-by-side. \nWe do not require previous high performance driver training or experience\, but participation in a Car Control Clinic or similar training is highly recommended. First timers and inexperienced autocrossers will be assigned a driver coach to ensure they get the most out of their day. \nOur events are very social and we welcome all makes of cars\, not just BMWs and MINI. Unlike some other clubs\, we don’t limit registrations from other marques. Everyone has the same chance of getting in! \nRegistration for every autocross opens the Monday following the previous month’s event. Pre-registration is required to participate.

SUMMARY:GGC Volunteer Appreciation Party
DESCRIPTION:Each year we take an evening to celebrate and thank our volunteers for the hard work they’ve put into the Chapter and we want to invite all of our Members to join us this year. We’ll have a DJ\, food and beverages. Please join us for a fun night and help us thank the Members who’ve worked so hard this year to help make the Golden Gate Chapter amazing.  This is also a great opportunity to find out how to become a volunteer and meet other members. \nThe Golden Gate Chapter requires the dedication of Members just like you! Every single event we host requires volunteers to run it and we don’t get to thank these exceptionally dedicated members often enough. So let’s party and take an evening to do just that! See you there! Bring Friends! \nClick here for non-volunteer registration. $20 per person\, inclusive. \nVolunteers are by invite only\, with a separate registration. Please contact Eric Ries\, President if your invite has not arrived via email.

DESCRIPTION:The 47th Annual BMW CCA Oktoberfest will run from Tuesday\, August 23 through Sunday\, August 29\, 2016 in Monterey\, CA. \nRegistration now open! Click here to register! \nCelebrate with Us!\n\nEach year the BMW Car Club of America throws a party—a world famous party known as Oktoberfest and sometimes simply O’fest. This movable celebration of everything BMW occurs at exciting locations throughout the country and is the ultimate motorsport family reunion. This year we are fortunate enough to have our family reunion presented by Michelin once again!\n  \n2015’s Oktoberfest\, hosted by the New Jersey Chapter\, was a week filled with old school charm and exciting driving events. But now it’s time to prepare for the next chapter of the Oktoberfest story¬–the 47th Annual BMW CCA Oktoberfest Presented by Michelin in Monterey\, California!\n  \nO’Fest 2016 will be part of a once-in-a-lifetime celebration spanning almost two weeks in honor of BMW’s 100th anniversary. The event will be held in conjunction with two other favorite club events—Legends of the Autobahn and the Festorics corral—so you do not want to miss this historic event. The host hotel for O’fest will be the Hyatt Monterey and the track is\, of course\, the thrilling Laguna Seca Raceway. Yes\, finally you\, too\, will drive the Corkscrew!\n  \nMonterey is known for incredible scenery\, the Monterey Bay Aquarium\, Fisherman’s Wharf\, and the nearby vineyards in Carmel Valley making this location the perfect setting for the centennial celebration and O’Fest!\n  \nOktoberfest will run from Tuesday\, August 23 through Sunday\, August 28\, 2016\, and will feature many of the staples that longtime attendees have become familiar with at previous gatherings\, including the Bridgestone autocross\, Pirelli Concours\, rallies\, and of course\, high-performance driving events. This year’s edition will also feature some very unique social events—a beach party along the Monterey Bay\, a strolling dinner at Holman Ranch with stunning mountain views\, and the BMW NA Awards Banquet at the Hyatt with some very special guests to end the week.\n  \nThis will be a bucket-list week of excitement and fun for any BMW enthusiast. Stay tuned for other surprises that have yet to be announced!\n\nRegister today!

SUMMARY:Autocross #2

SUMMARY:Teen Car Control Clinc
DESCRIPTION:The Teen CCC is a low-cost event targeted specifically at younger drivers. While driver’s ed focuses on the rules of the road\, car control education has a different focus. The key goals of the program include teaching teens how to deal with the unexpected through better skills behind the wheel\, and how to prevent the unexpected through improved awareness and judgment. \nFor example\, our material covers how to swerve around an obstacle\, how to stay in control during a panic braking stop\, how to improve the use vision for better anticipation. These skills are especially important for teen drivers to learn\, given their limited experience behind the wheel – and can be life saving knowledge. What could be more important than giving a teenage driver the knowledge and skills to be a better\, safer driver? \n \nUsing their own cars\, students will learn the hands-on physics of car control\, pushing the limits of tire adhesion in a safe\, controlled situation. A trained driving instructor accompanies each student to provide immediate feedback while students maneuver their cars through exercises laid out with orange rubber cones in a closed parking lot. Exercises are designed to be fun\, safe\, challenging\, and educational—and each exercise teaches specific skills. \nThe normal cost of registration plus one year membership is $188. This is discounted to $120 for this event.
